Description

Finally finished my VOLTRON illustration. I have to say I much prefer the Japanese original version, "GoLion, King of Beasts" and that's why I focused on that as the primary title. The original series is just more full in my opinon--bettereverything...check it out if you have an opportunity. The music and sound effects have better quality and the drama and consequences are more realistic. The US edited-version was adjusted and repackaged for children, but Japanese Anime doesn't address that as an issue. 

Perhaps our culture has been historically put off by many "culture shocks" in the media due in part to sensorship of material that is more broad in older societies. However, I am not an advocate of complete non-censorship, though I think the essential realities of life, nature, and the human condition should be less shrowded with children...reasoning skills should be encouraged through communication, exposure and discussion. The more we know earlier on, the less fearful perhaps we will be of knowledge in adulthood. ~b.d

THIS THIS THIS, is what the Netflix Voltron cartoon should have looked like! WONDERFULL work dude....BUT I 100% have to say I disagree with you totally about censorship....because of the LACK of censorship is why we got that LGBTQ-Tron trash Netflix spewed out. I have watched Go-Lion and perhaps it works as a MOVIE..but not as a cartoon as KIDS is HOW we start getting into that...No Adult in the 80's watched Cartoons like this....WE are adults now and thats why we may think we "WANTED" and adult version of Voltron, but No.....Sex scenes, Nudity, blood was not necessary...think about it...when was the last time you thought "Man...Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back totally sucked.....it didnt have a single curse word, sex scene, Blood gore Violence in it....man I am gonna protest"???? um..never right? Star Wars doesnt need that, Nor Spiderman, nor the Marvel Universe. It can be super well done for adults without any of that. AM I right? Anyhow.....How did I get here to your Art? I was EXACTLY thinking about how do we Fix Voltron now that Netflix Damaged it twice (they made 2 reboots..or was the other Cartoon Network? cant remember). And I said..Aha! Go back to Go Lion! and here I am :-).
